Ryan Walterhouse - Former Oakland Police Officer

After completing his training at the Alameda County Sheriff’s Academy, Ryan Walterhouse joined the Oakland Police Department in 2014. Since then, Ryan Walterhouse has worked as a security officer for a private company.

During his time with the Oakland Police Department, Ryan Walterhouse conducted investigations, including interviewing witnesses and suspects and conducting research in the department’s database. He also monitored communities for signs of criminal activity and established rapport with area residents.

In 2017, he began working as a security guard for a private company. In this role, he provided security for high-profile clients and events and escorted important political figures. Today, he works with another undisclosed company conducting investigations.

His other professional interests include helping athletes transition to careers in law enforcement. His expertise extends to showing others how baseball principles are comparable to those in law enforcement.

Mr. Walterhouse’s expertise in security includes NREMT EMT and Solano County EMT certifications. He also holds a degree in criminal justice from Indiana State University. His interests outside of police work are competitive bodybuilding, baseball, golf, working out, and CrossFit.
